Sun exposure – skin remembers!

News   |   autor: PIP   |   03.07.2017.

Our skin protects us from the external elements, chemical, mechanical and heat damage.

Irresponsible conduct towards the skin, time in the sun, and excessive exposure of skin to UV rays without adequate protection leaves consequences on the skin, and the skin remembers this damage.

Due to the direct exposure of the activity of the sun's rays on skin, the body's largest organ, its effects are greatest and most visible on the skin, and can be positive or negative.

Positive effects of the sun, or heliotherapy, implies controlled and therapeutic exposure of the body to the sun’s rays. It is well known that the sun has, within certain limits, an exceptionally healthy effect, and that without the warmth of the sun, we would not be able to function. The sun has always been the primary source of light, heat and life, and plays a very important role in protecting health and improving vitality. The sun’s rays stimulate the synthesis of vitamin D that is necessary for the development and strengthening of bodes, and in the treatment of dermatosis.

Moderate sun exposure stimulates the skin to activate its own defensive mechanisms, by creating the pigment melamine. This results in a darker colouration of the skin, which also makes it more resistant to the sun’s rays. The desired result is a bronze tan, that reflects freshness, vitality and health. Though it might seem that tanned skin looks almost ideal, the fact is that skin requires special care after sun exposure. Regardless of whether you are tanned or not, your skin needs help to regenerate after each exposure to sunlight. Light and non-oily lotions are the perfect choice, as they calm and cool the skin, and return much needed moisture.

It is important to avoid products containing artificial, synthetic ingredients, that do more harm than good, especially products containing alcohol.

Negative impacts of the sun on skin can be acute or chronic.

Uncontrolled sun exposure has been proven to damage skin, and 80% of all skin damage is caused by this.

Acute effects of sun on skin are most often the burns that appear after excessive sun exposure. Milder sunburns are characterised by red and painful skin, appearing several hours after excessive exposure without protection of the skin. Over the next 24 hours, the pain and redness is more prominent, and after a few days the skin begins to shed and peel. All the symptoms subside after about a week.

In order to help your skin and stimulate its recovery, it is necessary to cool it with cool compresses and caring products that will calm, nourish and regenerate the skin. Lotions and creams containing dexapanthenol are recommended, as they stimulate epithelialisation and regeneration of the epidermis. The addition of propolis, honey and royal jelly prevent bacterial infections, reduce redness, pain and tightness of skin.

FARMAKOL line products Dermapip cream and lotion are all your skin needs!

FARMAKOL DERMAPIP BODY LOTION is intended for the daily care of sensitive, dry, inflamed or damaged skin. Thanks to the active natural ingredients: honey, panthenol, propolis, royal jelly and calendula extract, this lotion nourishes and deeply moisturises the skin, returning its elasticity and making it feel velvety soft. It is ideal for relieving redness and tightness of the skin after sun exposure, and for dry and sensitive skin as a natural aid for irritation. The hydrating and protective properties have anti-inflammatory activity, relieving dryness, peeling and itching. Honey and royal jelly activate the skin cell mechanisms that slow the aging process, to improve tissue regeneration, protect skin cells from degenerative changes, and to deeply nourish and moisturise the skin.

Dermapip body lotion has a light texture, is easily applied and quickly absorbed, and contains only natural, plant-based fragrances that give it a pleasant and mild fragrance.

FARMAKOL DERMAPIP CREAM is an intensive and regenerative cream intended for damaged skin with dry lesions. Dry damaged areas should be protected from further drying, and should receive adequate moisture. In the case of skin damage, it is necessary to calm the skin, relieve itchiness, and stimulate the healing process, to regain the full protective function of the skin. The active ingredients of Dermapip cream also act to prevent secondary infections, to calm the inflammation process, to improve skin regeneration and to produce collagen fibres.

This cream is particularly recommended for: minor burns – especially sunburns, minor scrapes, rough skin on elbows and feet, hand care, prevention and treatment of stretch marks, care of skin in folds (where inflammation can occur due to constant friction), and for diaper rash.

You should never apply any type of oil or fat to a burn, as they retain heat, and further “burn” the skin.

More serious sunburns are painful with bubbling of the skin that can easily become infected, causing additional problems and requiring a visit to the doctor.
