Dear customers, the picture above shows where the risks are in the production of bee products, as there are risks in all production. In order to reduce these to a minimum, there are production standards, and good manufacturing practice. This is followed by control (analysis) that proves that the product is suitable for consumption (health suitability and confirmation of quality). Analysis is to be conducted on the homogenous batch, on every batch, and not just on a single “bucket” in the year.
The risks involved in honey production are: spilling sugar syrup in the hive feeding area, treatment of bees with medicines that are not permitted, inexpert treatment, treatment at the ‘wrong’ time, low quality packaging and inadequate thermal processing. It should be known that honey crystallizes (sugars), and that is a sign that it is natural. This happens in the honey made by both small producers and large companies. All then decrystallize (melt) the honey, though some do this with a “torch”, others in a “pot”, some in a small though adequate chamber, and others yet in completely controlled technological processes.
IMPORTANT!
That is the reality, though it should also be the reality that all quantities of honey are analysed (not just a single sample), as today there are laboratories that can reveal all “damage” to honey. That is why it must be known that only bees can make honey, and it is up to the beekeepers and bee product companies to preserve its quality, for he who causes the least damage to the honey, has the best honey. |
